IMPORTANT: Delivery Information

Customers must proceed to PARKING 5 at the airport. An AACARS employee will be present with our shuttle bus to transport you to our nearby rental station for vehicle handover. Vehicles must be returned exclusively to our rental station, where a staff member will then drive you back to the airport. Please ensure the accuracy of your flight number and airline details.

Bookings & Car Groups

For car groups listed as “ON REQUEST,” AACARS reserves the right to confirm or decline the requested booking. Even if the client receives an automatic confirmation email, AACARS maintains the right to approve or refuse the booking within 24 hours.

Reservations

All reservations are made based on vehicle categories, not specific models. In the event of unavailability in the selected category, and with reference to a confirmed reservation, AACARS reserves the right to provide a higher category vehicle at no additional charge. AACARS is not responsible for misselected categories, particularly concerning the number of passengers and luggage capacity. Vehicles are handed over clean and should be returned in a similar condition. A cleaning fee of up to EUR 100.00 will be charged for vehicles returned in an unusually dirty state.

Driver Requirements

The minimum age requirement for drivers of vehicle categories A, B, C, and D is 23 years. For all other categories, the minimum age is 25 years. Drivers under 23 years may still rent a vehicle by contacting AACARS at info@aacars.gr. All drivers must have held a valid Class III (B) driver's license for at least 2 years and must carry valid identification (ID/Passport and Driving License). AACARS holds no obligation to rent vehicles in cases of missing or invalid documents, and no refunds will be issued for payments already made. Citizens of non-EU countries must present a valid international driving license in addition to their national driving license. Some exceptions apply; please contact us for further information.

If extending a rental, the client must visit our station to sign a new contract and pay the additional amount. Extension prices are subject to the current website rates. No refunds are issued post-rental. Any issues should be addressed during the reservation to allow the company to provide appropriate solutions, such as vehicle replacement.

Traffic Tickets and Fines

Traffic tickets and fines incurred due to violations of the Highway Code are the responsibility of the renter, including associated administrative costs. AACARS will charge a processing fee of 15.00€ in addition to the fine amount.

Reservations must be canceled at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled rental start date and time, as recorded in the company's reservation system or by emailing info@aacars.gr. In such cases, the deposit will be refunded minus applicable fees and commissions. For date or time changes resulting in a price reduction, the reduction does not apply if the change is notified less than 48 hours before the arrival time. Bank fees of 5-27.00€ will apply for foreign account refunds. PayPal refunds incur lower fees.

AACARS is not responsible for price changes due to alterations or cancellations after the rental period has started. No refunds or credits will be issued for no-shows, lack of a valid driver’s license, early returns, or cancellations after the rental start.

No Show Policy

If you are unable to collect the vehicle at the specified time, please inform us in advance. Reservations will be canceled one hour after the scheduled pick-up time if no notice is given.

After-Hours Deliveries and Collections

We updated (10th Of July 2024) our Terms for After-Hours Deliveries and Collections because of the increasing numbers of flight delays:
A fee of 40.00€ (including 24% VAT) or 50.00€ in case of last minute update for the outside of office hours drop off or pick up - is applied for after-hours deliveries and collections, visible during the booking process on our website. If your flight is delayed and delivery occurs outside normal operating hours, this fee may be added to your total booking amount. Our office hours are 8:30 to 21:30. Assistance is available 24/7, but operations outside these hours will incur an additional cost of 40.00€.

Out-of-Station Deliveries and Collections

Out-of-station deliveries and collections are available upon request. The additional charge can be discussed via email at info@aacars.gr.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when it was collected. If returned with less fuel, the customer will be charged for the difference plus a 15€ administration fee. No refunds are provided for vehicles returned with more fuel than at collection.

Mileage Policy

Free mileage is included for rentals longer than 3 days. Rentals shorter than 3 days include a mileage limit of 100 km/day.

Accidents

In case of an accident, a 90€ administration fee applies, even with full insurance. AACARS reserves the right to replace a vehicle within 48 hours after an accident or mechanical issue.

Road Assistance

AACARS vehicles are covered by 24-hour road assistance. Contact details are provided in the rental contract.

Car Transport Restrictions

Transporting and driving the vehicle outside Greek borders is prohibited, except with written permission from AACARS and payment of a specified fee.

Car Transport by Ship

Transporting the vehicle by ship requires written approval from AACARS and incurs a fee of 30.00€.

Insurance Policies

Full insurance is included for most car categories. In case of an accident, the customer pays only a 90€ administration fee. Full insurance covers the rented vehicle without requiring a credit card deposit. However, it does not cover damages to glass, tires, and the underbody. Additional coverage for these parts can be purchased at rates varying from 3€/day to 27€/day, depending on the vehicle category. If the selected vehicle category does not include full insurance, AACARS will preauthorize the customer’s credit card for a deposit.

Customers are fully liable for damage due to incorrect fuel use, damage to child or baby seats, electrical issues due to negligence, and personal items stolen or damaged. Lost or damaged keys are not covered by insurance and will incur a replacement cost starting at 190.00€, depending on the key and vehicle type.

AACARS is not liable for damages or accidents caused by intoxication or reckless behavior. The driver must notify the car rental company and police immediately after an accident and wait for the police report, which must be submitted when the vehicle is returned. Failure to comply voids insurance coverage, and the renter is liable for all damages. Immediate reporting of any vehicle damage is required, and failure to do so results in the customer bearing all costs. A processing fee of up to EUR 90.00 applies for damage or accident reports.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Personal accident insurance (PAI) for occupants is included for all car groups up to 1,220,000 euros. Vehicles are insured against third-party damage (excluding the driver) up to 1,220,000 euros for bodily harm and material damages. In case of any changes to these limits, the minimum limits defined by Greek legislation apply. Damages exceeding the insurance coverage limit are the customer's responsibility.
